Feb. 24--Decatur foreclosure rates in December were down from the previous year and below both state and national rates, according to a survey released today by CoreLogic.
Decatur-area foreclosures in December were 1.05 percent on outstanding mortgages, down 0.03 percent from December 2012.
The December foreclosure rate in Alabama was 1.18 percent, down from 1.24 percent in December 2012. Nationwide, the rate was 2.09 percent, down from a year-ago rate of 2.95 percent.
December mortgage-delinquency rates also were down in Decatur, with 5.08 percent of mortgages 90 or more days past due. The delinquency rate in December 2012 was 5.47 percent.
Decatur's delinquency rate compared favorably to the state's rate of 5.08 percent and the national rate of 5.03 percent.
