Pak liquid forex figure $ 7.99402 bln

The total liquid foreign reserves of the country stand at dollars 7.99402 billion , said State Bank of Pakistan here.

SBP’s weekly statement issued on Thursday, the foreign reserves held by State Bank on Feb. 14, 2014 amounted dollars 3,196.7 million. The net foreign reserves held by banks other than SBP figured dollars 4,797.5 million.

During the week , SBP’s liquid forex reserves increased by $ 356 million to $ 3,197 million as compared to $ 2,841 million of the previous week.

The increase in the Central Bank’s reserves is attributed to $ 406 million official inflows during the week. These include $ 353 million received under the Coalition Support Fund. Dollars 53 million from multilateral and bilateral sources.

Over this period , on account of external debt servicing and other official payments, SBP has made payments of $ 150 million from its reserves. The payments include $ 147 million paid to International Monetary Fund (IMF) under SBA.
