Feb. 21--Indianapolis-based Smarter Remarketer said Thursday that it had secured $7 million in venture financing led by a Massachusetts company, Battery Ventures, to fund more growth.
As part of the deal, Battery Ventures' general partner, Neeraj Agrawal, will join Smarter Remarketer's board.
Smarter Remarketer is a 4-year-old digital-marketing company that works with clients such as Eddie Bauer, SkyMall, Finish Line and Hugo Boss. The company will use the investment money to expand its marketing platforms, it said in a news release.
The round of venture capital follows Smarter Remarketer's best annual performance yet, with revenue growth in 2013 three times higher than the previous year, the company said in its release.
Battery Ventures is a global company with offices in Boston, San Francisco and Israel that also has invested in Indianapolis-based ExactTarget (acquired last year by Salesforce), Angie's List and Consona Corp.
