Feb. 20--Have you ever had the urge to get down on hands and knees and paint a street? If so, here's your chance:
On Saturday, Casselberry will offer residents brushes to paint a design that has been stenciled on the street at the intersection of Lilac Road and Palm Drive. It's part of an ongoing effort by the Seminole County city to brighten up its neighborhoods with art.
First started in Portland, Ore., the so-called "street art murals" are also a way to promote a connection among neighborhood residents, city officials said. And the street murals tend to slow traffic in residential areas.
The painting will start at 9 a.m., and the intersection will obviously be closed to traffic during the event.
