TORONTO - The Canadian dollar closed at 91.32 cents U-S, up 0.27 of a cent from Friday's close.

The S-and-P/T-S-X composite index was up 22.71 points to 14,077.47.

Volume at 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time was 360.70 (m) million shares.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 23.99 points to 16,130.40.

The Standard-and-Poor's 500 index added 2.13 points to 1,840.76.

In the New York Mercantile Exchange, the gold futures for April closed at 1,324 dollars, 40 cents U-S per ounce, up 5 dollars, 80 cents.

The March crude contract closed at 102 dollars, 43 cents U-S per barrel, up two dollars, 13 cents.
