First Bankcard, the credit card division of First National Bank of Omaha, Neb., is expanding its program granting free access to FICO scores for its cardholders. First announced in November, the program was originally open only to those with "First National Bank of Omaha" branded credit cards.

Now, First Bankcard also will offer the service to cardholders of eight of its co-branding partners: Union Bank, N.A., San Francisco; New York Life Insurance Company; Scheels All Sports, a retailer headquartered in Fargo, N.D.; Overstock.com, an online retailer headquartered in Salt Lake City; Sheetz, Inc., a chain of convenience stores headquartered in Altoona, Pa.; MidFirst Bank, Oklahoma City; Technology Credit Union, San Jose, Calif.; and Swagbucks, an online rewards and loyalty destination headquartered in Redondo Beach, Calif.

The program will be rolled out to additional First Bankcard customers' cardholders in the coming months.

Available for cardholders' online viewing, the score provided by First Bankcard is specific to credit card lending. The company also is offering educational content aimed at improving cardholders' credit knowledge and giving them a broader understanding of how credit card issuers evaluate accounts and creditworthiness.

First Bankcard says it is one of the first credit card issuers in the country to make FICO scores available to cardholders for free. *
