BRIEF: County auditor's staff cited for excellence

Feb. 18--MOUNT VERNON -- The Skagit County Auditor's Office was awarded national honors for annual financial reporting.

Th e G o v e r n m e n t Finance Officers Association presented the award to the department's chief accountant Jana Robbins. The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting honors work that "demonstrates a constructive spirit of full disclosure."

"This award reflects impressive accomplishments by Chief Accountant Jana Robbins, Senior Accountant Marie Nelson and our entire accounting team and county staff," said county Auditor Jeanne Youngquist.

The county has been awarded the certificate two years in a row. This award honors the county's 2012 comprehensive annual financial report.

"This process challenges us to go above and beyond what's required, with details including local demographics and trend data," Robbins said. "It's gratifying to receive this honor for the second year in a row."
