BRIEF: Rosalind Avenue in downtown Orlando reopens

February 18, 2014

By Dan Tracy, Orlando Sentinel

Feb. 18--Motorists rejoice. A section of Rosalind Avenue in downtown Orlando reopened this afternoon after it was closed five days ago for repaving.

Workers took out asphalt between Anderson and South streets and replaced it with steel-reinforced concrete.

The new pavement will accommodate tractor trailers going to the loading docks of the performing arts center that is under construction.

Motorists were forced to detour several blocks to the east of downtown to avoid the work, which was set to be complete Saturday. City officials said the project was finished early because the closure allowed construction crews to work without having to deal with traffic.
