Encore Health Resources Selected as KLAS Research Category 'Leader' in Go-Live Support

February 16, 2014

Encore Health Resources, a consulting firm in the health- information technology (HIT) industry, announced that it has been named Category Leader in the Go-Live Support services segment of the 2013 Best in KLAS: Software and Services report.

According to a release, Encore's first-place ranking in the category - a new segment for KLAS this year -- was announced by KLAS in the report late last week.

"A go live can be a risky time for provider organizations, and many are bringing in third parties to help improve their chances of success. These third-party vendors help with things like system adoption, system optimization, and workflow creation," wrote KLAS in its new report. "The new Go-Live Support services segment has five ranked vendors-Encore [is] the category leader...."

Encore also ranked fourth in the report's 2013 Overall Services Firms Rankings. According to KLAS, the overall service firm ranking is reserved for those firms that have a minimum of three separate services that meet the minimum KLAS Konfidence level in three separate market segments.

"Encore is once again honored by our clients and KLAS to receive this high recognition as the industry's Go-Live Services Category Leader. For any healthcare organization, the shift from EHR application build-and-test to the actual go-live phase can be a wake- up call - and also the first critical mile of information-based performance improvement," said Dana Sellers, Chief Executive Officer, Encore Health Resources. "No matter what the specific HIT functionality involved, Encore provides the breadth of services and solutions - with emphasis on both management oversight and successful physician adoption -- required to support the end-user community, optimize the go-live experience, and ensure the success of HIT adoption itself."

Last October, KLAS Research also named Encore the top-rated vendor in its Go-Live Support 2013: Call in the Cavalry4 report. The report, which also cited Encore for being one of only three companies with the proven ability to staff very large projects,5 explored the performance, offerings, and organizational impacts of go-live support vendors. Go-Live Activation Services are an important component of Encore's full spectrum of HIT advisory, implementation, analytics and performance improvement services. Successful physician involvement and system adoption is crucial during this stage of EHR implementation, since it establishes a strong foundation for performance improvement as health systems shift from paper-based to digital EHR systems. It also reinforces physician workflows, efficiently capturing clean data for quality reporting and many other analytical needs that are required to meet an increasing number of federal- and state-government regulatory reporting requirements.

Encore has earned other recognition from KLAS. In 2011, KLAS ranked Encore as one of its top two Health IT Advisory Services firms in a report entitled Advisory Services: Navigating the Maze of Performance and Choice6. Later that year, KLAS honored Encore with a "Best in KLAS" award; Encore tied for first place in outstanding service performance in the area of Planning and Assessment in KLAS' publication entitled, 2011 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services7. In 2012, a KLAS study entitled Navigating the Sea of Epic Consulting Firms8 ranked Encore the top-rated firm serving Epic clients in the category of Team Implementation Leadership & Advisory.

KLAS is a research firm.
