Feb. 14--A Wichita Falls man was charged with 15 counts of possession of child pornography after a yearlong investigation.
Christopher Alan Thomas, 37, was arrested Wednesday after the warrants for his arrest were signed Jan. 23. Thomas is in the Wichita County Jail with his bail totaling $150,000.
The investigation began Jan. 10, 2013, when the Wichita Falls Police Department was contacted by United Regional Hospital personnel who said they believed an employee was manipulating an image of child pornography on his computer at his work station.
Detective Raymond Perry investigated the incident and spoke with three witnesses in the hospital's IT department who said they saw Thomas manipulating the image.
The computer tower at Thomas' workstation was turned over to police the same day and sent to the North Texas Regional Computer Forensics Lab. The lab discovered the computer contained multiple images of child pornography.
Perry reviewed the results from the lab Jan. 20, 2014, and noted some of the images were animated.
The charges against Thomas are a third-degree felony, punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
Thomas has no previous criminal record, according to publicdata.com.
