Feb. 13--The Abilene City Council on Thursday voted to table a proposed amendment of the Land Development Code to create and adopt standards for a Lake Fort Phantom Hill Overlay Zone, sending it back to the Abilene Planning and Zoning Commission.
Council members also approved two resolutions supporting housing tax credit applications for a senior and a low-income housing project planned for the Cobb Park area and authorized a joint election agreement between the city, Abilene Independent School District, Wylie Independent School District and the city of Impact, Lytle Water District.
The city also entered into a contract with the Taylor County election administrator.
An ordinance to adopt the Cobb Park Area Revitalization Plan passed its first reading. City Council also authorized the purchase of two new fire engines for the Abilene Fire Department and the replacement of playground equipment at Redbud Park.
