Armenians fond of coffee, but pay high price for daily ritual

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 13, ARMENPRESS. The coffee import to the Republic of Armenia has been increased by 8.9 percent in the previous year in comparison with 2012, thus reaching 11 thousand 565 tons. At the same time, the customs value of the imported coffee has been reduced by 2 percents thus reaching USD 25.8 million (approximately AMD 900 per 1 kg). In accordance with the data provided by the State Revenue Committee adjunct to the Government of the Republic of Armenia, our country imported 10 thousand 619 tons of coffee in 2012.

As reports "Armenpress", at the same time, the coffee export volume from the Republic of Armenia has been reduced by 8.3 percents. The Republic of Armenia exported 1233.9 tons of coffee during previous year, while in 2012 this number reached 1346.1 tons. At the course of the previous year our country imported over 80 percent of coffee from Indonesia, and exported coffee to the Russian Federation and Georgia.
