NBC Picks Grand Winner in Sh28 Million Car Promo

THE National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has picked its winner for the 'Weka Upewe' promotion, who walked away with a grand new 2013 Suzuki Swift worth 28m/-.

The Head of Retail Banking, Mr Musa Jallow, said at the event held in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday that NBC was happy to change the lives of its customers who participated in the promotion launched in October last year.

He said the draw was the third and final for the promotion in which 12 NBC customers won different prizes from household power generators to Boda bodas. The car was selected to meet the terrain and economic conditions in the country so that we do not add a burden to our winner.

Other lucky winners from other regions in the country have already received the prizes won in the promotion launched during the NBC's Customer Service Month.

"This is a key milestone for our bank, as we have managed to fulfil our organization's purpose which is to help people achieve their ambitions in the right way."

He said "We live in tough economic times, where people have more financial commitments than what their income can accommodate, therefore by offering this scheme we aim to ease the growing burden to the customers by granting them an opportunity to do much more with their finances."

He said NBC believes in empowering people hence the launch of the promotion as a way of thanking customers who have supported the bank. "Our winner today will close the number of winners to 13 making us feel excited being able to change 13 Tanzanians' lives," he added.

All the prizes have been handed over to the winners and the car is ready to be handed over to the owner who we will all know after the draw and change his/her life through solving their transport issues or even uses the car as a means of extra income to support their families.

"We are pleased with the support our customers have shown us so far. This promotion was for customers who apart from winning prizes benefited from the reduced interest rates as well." The NBC Weka Upewe campaign was intended to benefit all customers who have Malengo savings accounts and for any customer who will open a new fixed deposit.

Any NBC customer who deposited any amount starting from 50,000/- into his/her NBC Malengo account, or anyone who opens a Malengo account and or Fixed Deposit account with NBC and deposit 50,000/- or 1m/-or more respectively.

This is the second time NBC is running the promotion, in 2012 they ran a similar promotion dubbed 'Dabo Mshiko wako na NBC.' The promotion aims at not only encouraging savings culture among NBC customers, but also to celebrate NBC customers for their business.
