Hartford Funds Names Amrit Walia Head of Internal Sales

Hartford Funds announced the appointment of Amrit Walia as Senior Vice President, Head of Internal Sales.

According to a release, in this role, Walia is charged with driving the strategic direction of the department as well as leading, managing and coaching the firm's team of more than 60 sales professionals. She reports to Jac McLean, Head of Distribution at Hartford Funds and is based out of the firm's Radnor, PA headquarters.

"Amrit's sales and leadership experience will be invaluable to our team as we continue to develop and strengthen relationships across the country. We're thrilled to welcome her to Hartford Funds," said McLean, adding, "Her background in building and leading sales organizations, strategy teams and guiding firms through change will be instrumental in driving Hartford Funds' organic growth."

Walia brings more than 18 years of financial services industry experience to the company, most recently serving as National Sales Manager of the Merrill Lynch Private Banking and Investments Group. In that role, she was responsible for oversight of line of business operations, corporate communications, advisor development, client programs and strategic growth initiatives.

Previously, Walia has held various roles at Bank of America- Merrill Lynch, Gartmore Global Investments, Groupama Asset Management and American Express Financial Advisors. Her key leadership roles include those in investment management and distribution, banking and lending distribution, corporate strategy and business development, marketing, communications and field training.
