Feb. 11--Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards will have Winefest XXIV this weekend at the winery, 19239 U.S. Highway 27 north of Clermont.
The three-day outdoor event will include an arts and crafts show with more than 70 local artists featuring jewelry, wood crafts, paintings and more. Tours of the winery and wine tasting will be available. There also will be wine, beer and food vendors.
Airtight will entertain from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, and the Robert Harris Group from 2 to 5 p.m.; Saturday's performances will be The Ladyz & The Boyz from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Baby Blues & the No Attitude Band from 2 to 5 p.m.; and Sunday's performances will include the Groovemasters from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Bobby Blackmon and The B3 Blues Band from 2 to 5 p.m.
A solo performance by Marc Clermont will be featured from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the hospitality cellar on the second floor of the wine shop.
Seating is limited; patrons can bring a lawn chair or blanket.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is a $2 donation at the gate, which will benefit the South Lake County Scholarship Fund. Parking is free.

High blood pressure
The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences/Lake County Extension Office will present "Keeping Your Pressure Down." The three-part series will meet from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 27, and March 6 at the Lake County Agriculture Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.
Many people don't know they have high blood pressure because there are no symptoms. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure.
Topics will include managing your risk for blood pressure, nutrition, reforming your recipes, overview of the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) Diet, important minerals, understanding nutrition labels and stress management.
The series will be presented by Julie England, an extension agent.

Shoe affair tea
Ladies Tea Adventures will present its next tea at 2 p.m.Feb. 18 at the Donnelly House in downtown Mount Dora. Susan Mulholland will present the history of shoes.
Participants are invited to bring a pair of shoes that hold a meaning or a story to share with the group.
