Jan. 31--Intouch Solutions, a growing marketing firm that specializes in the pharmaceutical industry, plans to move into new space and hire another 350 people over the next five years, state and Overland Park officials said Friday.
The company, which currently employs 340 people, has been based in Overland Park since its founding in 1999, according to the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce. It grew its workforce by 16 percent last year and plans to move into 90,000 square-feet at 7045 College Blvd. this June.
The firm currently has its headquarters in Corporate Woods. It employs 450 people nationwide and has offices in Chicago and New York.
"With the growth we have seen over the past few years, space has become an issue," Faruk Capan, Intouch CEO, said in a statement. "We are excited abut this move because it not only provides us much needed room, but allows us to stay in the...College Boulevard corridor."
State economic development officials said the company plans to create 350 new jobs in Overland Park over the next five years.
"It's great news for our economy that the company plans to keep growing, hiring and investing in Kansas," State Commerce Secretary Pat George said in a statement.
Intouch Solutions describes itself as a technology-based marketing agency serving the pharmaceutical industry. The firm has been seeking space to expand for more than year, according to a release from the company.
Wendy Blackburn, Intouch executive vice president, said openings at the firm include jobs for account service managers, customer relationship management, email marketing, software developers and analysts. For more job information, go to intouchsol.com/careers.
The new location in what's called the Renaissance III building is owned by Copaken Brooks. The firm was represented in its search by Rollie Fors of Colliers International.
"This is a super deal for both parties," Keith Copaken, principal at Copaken Brooks, said in a statement. "Intuoch Solutions upgrades to more efficient and highly visible space, and Renaissance III gains an industry-leading company as a tenant."
The company expansion also was praised by Overland Park and Kansas officials.
"We've enjoyed watching Intouch grow, having recognized them with a Nova Award in 2011," Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach said in a statement. "We are so pleased that they will continue to growth their business here for years to come."
