SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 29 -- The Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International issued the following news release:
The latest edition of the International Technology Roadmap for PV (ITRPV) will be presented and released at the annual technology event PV Fab Managers Forum (www.semi.org/pvfmf), organized by SEMI, and held for the first time in Shanghai, China on March 17-18. The new edition focuses on advanced solar manufacturing and represents the input from a record 24 global PV suppliers and manufacturers. For the first time, the ITRPV also includes contributions from equipment and materials suppliers as well as research institutes.
The global contributors are Applied Materials, BESI, ECN, Fraunhofer IPA, GD Solar, Gintech, h.a.l.m., Hanwha Q-Cells, Hareon, Heraeus, imec, JA Solar, Komax, LDK, LONGi Silicon, Motech, NSP, Pillar, REC Silicon, RCT, RENA, Solon, Suntech, and Technology K.
The new ITRPV edition focuses on:
* Materials (e.g. n-type, p-type, mono-like vs. high-performing mc-Si)
* Technologies that enable new products such as glass-to-glass modules, bi-facial modules
* Printing and plating trends and technologies
* Cell concepts and efficiencies in mass manufacturing
Mr. LiuYong, COO, JA Solar, stated, "JA Solar joined the ITRPV activities as one of the first leading Chinese manufacturers. From the beginning, it was our vision to help create an industry-wide accepted roadmap. Now, with over 20 contributing companies, it seems we have made a big step towards this vision. I hope that even more companies will join in the coming years."
Dr. Guoqiang Xing, CTO of Hareon Solar, commented, "The ITRPV needs to be a guiding document to enrich discussions among suppliers and manufacturers. Therefore, it is important to open the ITRPV process to include industry suppliers so that the ITRPV results will be more precise and discussions along the supply chain can be held concurrently with the data collection process."
In addition to the release of the new ITRPV, the SEMI Photovoltaic Fab Managers Forum 2014 offers these programs: PV Market and Manufacturing Technology Outlook, Cost Reduction Potentials in Cell and Module Manufacturing, Efficiency Increase Potentials in Cell and Module Manufacturing, and more. Speakers include representatives from GDsolar, Hareon Solar, Hanwha Q-Cells, Heraeus Precious Metals, IHS Solar, JA Solar, LONGi Silicon, SEMI, VDMA, and Yingli Green Energy Holding.
Attendees can register now and benefit from the early-bird pricing until February 28. For more information about agenda, registration and venue, visit www.semi.org/pvfmf.
