The terahertz range of frequencies spans 0.1 ~ 10 THz on the electromagnetic spectrum. When terahertz waves pass through specimens, they produce absorption spectra that can be detected and analyzed, making terahertz spectroscopy a valuable complement to ultrasound and infrared for non-destructive analysis of internal structures and constituent substances.

A new temperature control accessory is now available as an option for the transmittance accessory. In contrast to previous systems, which could only perform measurement on specimens at room temperature, this enables the TAS7400 to handle specimen temperatures of -10?~+80?(Type A configuration) or room temperature ~+300? (Type B configuration). Additionally, Advantestís terahertz spectroscopy systems feature a dry air purge function for superior condensation management when operating under low-temperature conditions.
