Telecom Egypt signs an agreement with TMG to build a next generation network for Madinaty

Cairo - Telecom Egypt has signed an agreement with 'Arab company for projects and urban development(a subsidiary of Talaat Moustafa Group Holding (TMG Holding) to provide itsproject "Madinaty" with the latest communication technology. "Madinaty" is one of the largest fullyintegrated projects everdevelopedby the private sector in Egypt, on a total area of 33 million square meters. By signing this agreement te continuesits steps of developing the mega-projects in Egypt , by providing "Madinaty" withthe latestcommunication networks, using fiber optics technology. Mohammed Elnawawy, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of te, said: "This agreement with TMG reflects the confidence that major organizations and corporations continue tohave in te's ability to provide the latest and most powerful telecommunications services, all withthe latest technologies, at a large scale and to the highest international standards. "te has extensive experience in this field, especially given that we have delivered similar projects based on fiber-optics technology in the past year.The implementation of the "Madinaty" project's network will serve to further enhancete's position as one of the pioneers in the implementation and construction of next generation network for new cities that, importantly, enable end-users to get higher internet speeds of up to 10 GB/s." Gamal Al Gendy, TMG's Vice President said: "te's long standing experience was the main reason for TMG to cooperate with them for "Madinaty" project, the largestfully fledged residential community in Egypt, to further provide its residents with ultimate services using the latest technologies. This package of advanced servicesoutlined in the agreement will be integrated with other high class services available to "Madinaty's" residents, offering an exclusive lifestyle with a host of services and amenities. These amenities include malls, schools, transportation, sportsand social club, medical services, and mosques, as well as a nursery and high classentertainment areas. Signing this agreement between te and TMG supports the group's efforts to establish a model society with integrated services in "Madinaty", which will ultimately accommodate 600,000residentin 120,000 housing units. Eng. Tamer Gadallah,te's Head of Enterprise Business Unit said:"Signing this agreement allows us to build next generation network which will enable residents in "Madinaty" to take advantage of sophisticated services such as triple play,interactive internet based TV, video conference and high quality voice calls. "This project will be rolled out in several stages in order to build a network that allows voice and data services alongside entertainment, advertising and security applications.ADSL services will also be provided by te's internet arm, the leader of high-speed internet provider in Egypt.
