Polish bank BZ WBK mulls bond issues totalling EUR 0.7bn till end of year

Bank Zachodni WBK - controlled by Spain's Banco Santander - may issue bonds totalling PLN 3.0bn ( EUR 0.7bn ) till the end of 2014, according to the lender's institutional sales department director Bartek Godlewski . Half of these bonds could be offered still in H1 of 2014, he added. On Tuesday, last year's PLN 0.5bn bond issue of BZ WBK debuted on the Warsaw bourse's bond market Catalyst. PLN 0.1bn worth of these noted were taken up by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). In 2015, BZ WBK could offer retail bonds and eurobonds, the director also revealed. EBRD supported the issuance of senior unsecured bonds by BZ WBK by acquiring noted for PLN 100mn last year, which was its first project under the new framework aiming at supporting the debt capital market in Poland .
