United States : Landis+Gyr declares the RELEASE of version 6.1 of Command Center

Landis+Gyr has released version 6.1 of its operating software, Command Center, for monitoring and control of Gridstream advanced metering and grid management solutions. The company says the software gives support for new meters and communication modules, new network management functionality, and security enhancements. The software also launches an IPv6 gateway to enable use of common IT tools in addressing Gridstream RF devices.

Landis+Gyr claims the Ipv6 gateway offers greater interaction with utility IP-based tools for communicating with network devices, exporting meter data and simple network management protocol monitoring. The gateway comes under a standards-based architecture initiative to let the use of IPv6 applications in legacy smart grid systems and improve Gridstream functionality with grid management equipment partners.

Security improvements comprise new password management options and new settings for advanced security related to the expiration and reconfiguration of encryption keys.

"Command Center 6.1 includes updates that allow Gridstream customers to expand their connected devices, gain operating efficiencies and improve overall network performance," said Lisa Washburn, director of software product management. "It's focused on improving user controls and adding support for new products and standards-based protocols."
