TORONTO - The Canadian dollar closed at 89.99 cents U-S, down 0.32 of a cent from Friday's close. The S-and-P/T-S-X composite index was down 135.47 points to 13,582.29. Volume at 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time was 351.06 (m) million shares. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 41.23 points to 15,837.88. The Standard-and-Poor's 500 index shed 8.73 points to 1,781.56. In the New York Mercantile Exchange , the gold futures for February closed at 1,263 dollars , 40 cents U-S per ounce, down 90 cents .
