OLDWICK, N.J. --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating of B++ (Good) and issuer credit rating of ďbbbĒ of Transit Mutual Insurance Corporation of Wisconsin ( Transit Mutual) ( Appleton, WI ). The outlook for both ratings is stable. Concurrently, A.M. Best has withdrawn the ratings in response to managementís request to no longer participate in A.M. Bestís interactive rating process. The ratings reflect Transit Mutualís conservative underwriting and investment leverage, overall favorable loss experience, balance sheet liquidity and status as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. These strengths are offset by Transit Mutualís high net policy limits relative to surplus, risk concentration as a single state, single product insurer and the impact that policyholder dividends have on underwriting results. The methodology used in determining these ratings is Bestís Credit Rating Methodology, which provides a comprehensive explanation of A.M. Bestís rating process and contains the different rating criteria employed in the rating process. Bestís Credit Rating Methodology can be found at www.ambest.com/ratings/methodology . A.M.
