LOANS TO INDUSTRY AND CONSTRUCTION DECREASED

National Bank of Georgia reported that trade accounted for 45.19% (i.e. 2.44 billion lari) of total loans, issued by commercial banks to national economy as of January 1, 2014 , increasing by 9.2% year-on-year. Industry accounted for 17.43% (i.e. 942.28 million lari, decline 5.13%), while construction for 8.05% (i.e. 435.54 million lari, decline 0.04%). As of reporting date, lending of agriculture sector, forestry and fishing made up 153.71 million lari. This showing has increased 2.59 times year-on-year, making up 2.84% of total loan. Total lending of economy in the reporting period amounted to 5.4 billion lari, increasing by 13.61% year-on-year.
