Release date- 21012014 - HOUSTON, TX - Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAIC) today announced that Larry Sikes has been selected as a recipient of NASA's Silver Snoopy award by the NASA Astronaut Corps.
This award is presented to individuals within NASA, industry and international partner space flight team for outstanding contributions to mission safety and success. Sikes, SAIC receiving, inspection and test facility section manager, was presented with his award by U.S. Astronauts Randy Bresnick and Stan Love.

Sikes provides technical contributions as a member of SAIC's Safety and Mission Assurance Engineering Contract (SMAEC) team at NASA'sJohnson Space Center in Houston, TX. Sikes was recognized for his technical expertise and leadership in implementing programs to assure quality testing and products for the W. David Beverly Receiving, Inspection and Test Facility. He has been an integral part of establishing the facility as a World Class laboratory for NASA, providing insight into the many program-related issues that require technical analysis in assisting root cause determination. The SMAEC team mitigates the use of defective and lower quality components in the building of the nation's resources and thereby improving the astronauts' safety and product reliability and quality.
