India : VODAFONE plans launch of online learning device

Vodafone plans to launch its mobile internet teach tool across 1,000 government schools in rural India.

The tool, WebBox, - an Android smartphone repackaged as a keyboard which can be plugged in to a television to get online education content.

The device features an application that features state curriculum-based content in mathematics, science, English and Hindi for students of sixth and seventh classes.

In association with Pratham Foundation, Vodafone plans to roll out WebBox in twelve states on initial basis and later plans to offer the product commercially.
