Information technology: Tapping into global markets can boost incomes

Pakistan can generate revenue by tapping into international information technology markets, experts said on Saturday.

They were speaking at a seminar on emerging technologies and trends in computer sciences organised by the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF).

Chairing the inaugural session, UAF Vice Chancellor Iqrar Ahmad Khan said the world had become a global village of advancements in technology. A software house will be set up at the UAF, he said.

Khan said information and communication technology was important for disseminating information related to modern farming techniques.

University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Faculty of Sciences Dean Muhammad Javed said IT facilitates were being provided to students at the campus.

Chairman Tasleem Mustafa said the seminar was aimed at bringing together the academia and industry leaders.
