The big This is England reunion at The Approach in Nottingham spawned a plethora of tweets including this star-studded photo from Milky himself, Andrew Shim (@AndrewShim). Pictured alongside Andrew are @HannahWalters74, @ShadyMeadows, @Vicky_McClure, @ChanelCresswell, @ThomasTurgoose1 and @GeorgeNewton054 - not to mention the heroic Stephen Graham - at what was, by all accounts, a memorable evening with the gang. Looking forward to the next instalment, This is England '90.
Vicky McClure was also back in home territory for this year's Memory Walk at Wollaton Park, in aid of The Alzheimer's Society (@alzheimerssoc), tweeting: Biggest and best #memorywalk yet. Thanks to everyone who came. See you again next year! The boys from West Bridgford band Dog is Dead (@Dog_is_Dead) are coming to the end of their summer of festivals and this weekend will be playing Bestival on the Isle of Wight. They tweeted this funny picture where someone had a novel way of getting the best view, saying: Might try this at Bestival this weekend.
Mixed fortunes for boxer Carl Froch (@Carl_Froch) and girlfriend Rachael Cordingley (@rachcordingley) who only managed a position in the middle of the scoreboard on ITV's new Saturday night dance show Stepping Out. How will the pair fare with bhangra tonight? Have they done enough to avoid getting knocked out? We're not sure - but we must say, nice house guys.
The couple did rather better later in the week when Carl won the sportsman of the year award at the prestigious GQ Awards at the Royal Opera House, in London. Carl shared this photo, tweeting: On the way to the GQ Awards with @rachcordingley making me look good again! Meanwhile Strictly reject (can't believe they turned her down considering the dire line-up revealed this week), Rebecca Adlington (@BeckAdlington) made a trip to the cinema this week and confessed that she loved This Is Us, the new docu-film about the One Direction boys, tweeting: Seem like such an incredible funny group of guys! She even tweeted a photo of herself with cardboard cut-outs of the boys.
A couple of birthdays to mention over the past week. First, Mr Selfridge star Aisling Loftus (@whenmicecry) who celebrated hers with her boyfriend in New York, commenting: If I could Groundhog this day... Although things weren't looking quite so glamorous by Tuesday when she joined in the fun new national pastime, tweet- along-a-Great-British-Bake-Off. Eating Weetabix and water in front of GBBO lowers your self esteem, she observed. Quite.
Also marking his birthday was Bad Education star Mathew Horne (@mfhorne, pictured right) who tweeted: I'm 35 on Friday and I don't care. It's MY party and I'll go to Laser Quest if I want to.
Many happy returns to both of them.
Enjoyed this shot from The Telegraph showing how local boy Richard Whitehead (@Marathonchamp) was getting some inspiration from Oscar-winning movie Chariots of Fire while continuing his charity run from John O'Groats to Land's End.
Wonder did he switch over for the X Factor?
