LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- As PLACEBO near the release of their seventh studio album Loud Like Love--out September 17 on Universal Music Enterprises (UMe)--the trio have announced their first U.S. shows in six years. The shows are set for October 15 at Terminal 5 in New York and at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on October 18, in advance of a full U.S. tour in 2014.
The internationally acclaimed rock band also announced LOUD LIKE LOVE TV--a unique and candid 90-minute online TV show, set to broadcast Monday, September 16 at 3pm EST/12pm PST via Placebo's YouTube Channel. Placebo, in collaboration with YouTube and Google, will be the first band ever to produce, curate and stream a global live TV show, streamed live from YouTube Studios, London: http://www.youtube.com/user/officialplacebo.
Loud Like Love TV will feature new and exclusive content created by Brian, Stefan & Steve from Placebo and hosted by special guest presenters. It will include interviews with the band and all the people that have collaborated on the album, live performance of the new album and exclusive versions, 'behind the scenes' footage, Google hangouts, big fan competitions, live link ups to the YouTube Creator Space studios in LA and Tokyo and some special guests along the way. Fans will also have the chance to interact with the band live on air via their various social media channels.
The band also recently launched a two-part video series discussing the album that can be viewed exclusively on their YouTube Page. They also recently premiered the first official video from the album for "Too Many Friends," directed by Saman Kesh and narrated by novelist and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis.
Placebo has released six studio albums and sold more than 12 million records worldwide. The band's self-titled debut album, released in 1996, was certified gold in the UK and achieved platinum status in France. Since then, Placebo has enjoyed an ever growing level of success around the world with their unique blend of music and outstanding live performances. Placebo's seventh studio album Loud Like Love was recorded in London at RAK Studios during 2012 and early 2013. The album was produced by Adam Noble and features ten brand new studio tracks.
