Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution company and an operating group of Avnet, Inc., announced that it has received the Polycom RealPresence Services Specialization (RPSS) designation and will now offer technical assistance center services.
Polycom is focused on open, standards-based unified communication and collaboration. The technical assistance center services are available to channel partners in the U.S. and Canada through Avnet Services. Avnet'sRPSS designation will enable partners to provide value-added technical assistance center services for their unified communications customers without needing to develop these capabilities in house.

In a release, the company noted that Avnet partners will be able to offer their customers access to support. The Avnet technical assistance center will provide Level 1 and Level 2 support from Avnet's Polycom Video Conferencing Engineers (PCVE) certified technicians. These experts can assist with technical support and failure determination, and will be able to access a working lab to help with issues resolution.

Avnet's technical assistance center's services for Polycom are one of the many IT lifecycle services available through Avnet Services. These lifecycle services are designed to support a product after it goes to market, and they include services related to integration, installation and implementation; call centers; field/ depot repair; spare parts logistics; and end-of-life options such as responsible recycling. In addition to IT lifecycle services, Avnet Services offers partners a wide range of services focused on software and education that are designed to complement existing solutions sales and suppliers' services offerings.
