Cloud Single Sign-On Solution Provides Strong Security, Centralized
IT Control and Straightforward User Access from Any Device to All SaaS
While approximately half of the airline’s 320 employees are mobile, most of the others do not spend much time on computers. To make access to key applications and resources easier for all employees, NAC turned to the cloud. The airline implemented Ultimate Software’s SaaS-based people management platform, UltiPro, to streamline its multiple human resources functions along with the Federal Aviation Agency’s (FAA) new open-source and Web-based safety-event reporting and database tool (WBAT) to implement stronger safety standards. In its efforts to convince its workforce to adopt the new self-service HR portal and Web-based safety tool, which both require distinct user IDs and passwords for access, the company sought an easy-to-use, SaaS-based single sign-on (SSO) solution that would help them reduce password reset requests and enable secure employee app access.
NAC chose Ping Identity’s cloud-based SSO solution to provide user access to all SaaS applications from any device. The standards-based solution integrates with NAC’s Active Directory and provides centralized, IT-controlled access to SaaS and local applications. In addition to supporting hundreds of SaaS applications, including UltiPro and WBAT, Ping Identity provides strong security with no storage or replication of credentials in the cloud, and requires no on-premise hardware or software, an important criterion for NAC.
"Ping Identity gave us the whole package with its solution,” said
Up and running in mere weeks, Ping Identity has helped fuel adoption of the self-service HR portal, with use rates up 30 percent to date, and enabled seamless, secure anytime and anywhere mobile access. This has resulted in improved communication and decreased costs for the airline. Ping Identity has also cut the IT service desk’s workload in half, with decreased password resets and general solution support. With substantial workforce growth anticipated through mergers and acquisitions in the short term, NAC is prepared to scale seamlessly since Ping Identity is designed to manage and support an expanding user base and application portfolio.
