Sept. 23--If you want to be a whiz in computers, metals or thermoplastics, Palm Beach State College has money to help train you.
The college has received two federal grants totaling nearly $2.4 million for certificate programs in information technology, welding and machinery. They are part of an effort to expand training in areas with a growing number of jobs.
A $1.25 million grant will be used to develop a cybersecurity program at the college, while $1.1 million will be used to enhance an established machining and welding technology program.
