As part of the collaboration between InternetQ and Sony Mobile, the Akazoo music streaming service will be offered through a promotional three month free period to users of Sony's new Xperia Z-Ultra and Xperia Z1 smartphone devices across Malaysia. Purchasers of these Sony Mobile devices will have instant access to Akazoo via their App tray.
A recent survey by Ericsson ConsumerLab revealed that Malaysia with a population of 29 million had already hit 137% mobile penetration. During August 2013 smartphone ownership in the region reached circa 63% with that number expected to rise to circa 80% within the next six months.
