Mobile device manufacturer gains traction in hospitality industry
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Bevintel, a leader in beverage inventory control and profit management
for the hospitality industry, has optimized its efficiency and realized
cost savings by utilizing the Linea Pro™ 4 from Infinite
Peripherals, Inc. (IPC). The Linea Pro 4 adds a barcode scanner and
a magnetic stripe reader to the Apple® iPod touch® or iPhone®, and works
with custom software to create a mobile system for point-of-sale,
inventory management, asset tracking, ID verification and lead tracking,
among other capabilities.
This handheld system uses the company’s BevMobile application, which was
built in-house to run on iOS, to conduct inventory management for wine,
beer and liquor when franchisees perform audits in bars and restaurants.
The result is quicker, more accurate bar stock taking; ideal inventory
levels; and minimized loss due to waste and theft.
“We have received a lot of positive feedback about these devices,” said
Peter Lee, senior software engineer at Bevintel. “It has greatly
impacted our business, as it reduces the total inventory audit time, and
this translates into cost savings for our franchisees.”
Bevintel replaced its former bulky handheld devices with the Linea Pro
in 2012 based on the excellent quality and reputation of the Linea Pro.
“Other stores have used this product, so that certainly added more
confidence for us,” explained Lee. “Our franchisees need
high-performance equipment to consistently do their job right, and this
device performs with fast scanning speed, good battery life and a rugged
exterior for everyday use. We found the Linea Pro to be the best built
among many scanners.”
Beyond inventory, Bevintel is considering adding capabilities to this
robust mobile system, in order to make it “the do-it-all system for our
franchisees’ day-to-day operations,” according to Lee.
Another significant benefit is IPC’s immediate, dedicated service that
has helped define and differentiate this nimble, forward-focused company.
“IPC’s customer service is quite responsive and helpful, making our jobs
easier,” added Lee.
