Sept. 16--An area grad known to associate 'liars' and 'Army wives' will strut his stuff as part of the upcoming 17th season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
Deerfield Twp. native Brant Daugherty has been paired with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd.
Daugherty is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Noel Kahn on the ABC Family series "Pretty Little Liars."
The 28-year-old also plays Lt. Patrick Clarke on Lifetime's "Army Wives."
He will be seen playing the lead role in Hallmark Channel's upcoming TV movie, "The Michaels" and in a comedy spoof called The Starving Games.
In a 2010 story written by Hamilton Journal News reporter Eric Schwartzberg, Daugherty, a 2004 Mason High School graduate, said he was influenced by teachers Arlene Borock and Allen Young.
"Arlene cast me as a freshman in a good part (the governor in "Man of La Mancha"), and really gave me a chance there and Mr. Young put me in a series of good parts, one of which I won an award for, in Cincinnati, for best supporting actor," he told Schwartzberg.
Daugherty earned a bachelor's degree in film and video production, from Columbia College Chicago. He studied mainly writing and directing.
Dancing With the Stars two-hour season premiere is 8 p.m. tonight on WKEF-TV ABC 22.
Here are the other celebrity dancers and their partners: Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Valentin Chmerkovskiy; Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff; Bill Engvall and Emma Slater; Valerie Harper and Tristan MacManus; Keyshawn Johnson and Mark Ballas; Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein; Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke; Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Sasha Farber; Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani and Amber Riley & Derek Hough.
