"We're picking up the pieces. ... I am just so happy that he got to touch as many lives as he did while we were all lucky enough to have him."
"Glee's" Darren Criss talking in October's issue of Cosmopolitan about life on the show after the loss of Cory Monteith,Simon: My kid gets nothing,Simon Cowell is expecting a son with Lauren Silverman, but that kid shouldn't expect any inheritance from his dad.
"I'm going to leave my money to somebody. A charity, probably -- kids and dogs," the 53-year-old Simon told Esquire.
The "X-Factor" judge is reportedly worth an estimated $350 million.
"I don't believe in passing on from one generation to another," he told the magazine. "Your legacy has to be that, hopefully, you gave enough people an opportunity, so that they could do well, and you gave them your time, taught them what you know."
It was July when word came that Simon and Lauren were expecting. Lauren recently arrived at a divorce settlement with ex-hubby Andrew Silverman.
"I'm proud to be a dad," Simon said to the BBC at last month's premiere of "One Direction: This Is Us." "It's something I haven't thought of before, and then, now I know I feel good about it. And (Lauren) is a very special girl."
Simon also told the BBC, "I am good with kids , because I like kids. I really do like them and I listen to them. ... Once I got used to (becoming a father), I did get excited. I think I will be a good dad, so I'm excited."
-- Wire reports,Carrie's stiletto spill
Maybe Carrie Underwood will think twice about the height of her heels the next time she steps onstage.
The country star took a bit of a spill Sept. 5 while performing in front of a Corpus Christi, Texas, crowd. Fans captured images of Carrie stepping on the long hem of an oversize shirt, resulting in her ending up on her butt onstage. To her credit, she did finish singing the song -- from a seated a position.
She took it all in, um, stride though, tweeting afterward, "Hey, remember that time in Corpus Christi when that girl busted her butt on stage?! Hilarious. Oh wait, that was me!"
She also tweeted a photo of her foot in a black brace with the caption, "Good news, it's not broken...AND I got some new footwear!"
Her fall comes just a few days after her NHL player hubby Mike Fisher was bitten by a chipmunk that had found its way into their home. Naturally, they captured the rodent saga on Vine.

-- Robin Adams Sloan, King Features Syndicate,Who said no to 'Fifty Shades'?
By now, it's known that Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson will be starring the film version of the mega-hot "Fifty Shades" books as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. But it turns out the pair were not necessarily the first picks of author E.L. James or Universal.
Who else was up for the roles?
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed other stars who were courted for the coveted roles.
The Reporter says: Ryan Gosling turned down the role of Grey -- a billionaire who seems to really like S&M. "Tron" star Garrett Hedlund didn't connect with the character. Brit TV star Christian Cooke was up for the role and E.L. was hoping Robert Pattinson would be able to land the part.
For the role of Anastasia -- a college senior -- the Reporter says Felicity Jones was a top choice, but the 30-year-old actress was deemed too old for the part. Shailene Woodley was a fav of the author, but there were scheduling conflicts. Other names: Alicia Vikander, Imogen Poots and Elizabeth Olsen were in the running.
