CANNES, FRANCE -- (Marketwired) -- 08/30/13 -- Intriguing the senses of more than 200,000 spectators, the annual Festival of Pyrotechnic Art captured explosive reviews for pyrotechnicians who used their talents to turn crisp night skies over the Bay of Cannes into a canvas of majestic displays.
Lighting up the skies with a mix of flaming colors set to music, the festivities began in July and lingered well into August as firms representing six countries presented breathtaking displays to the delight of enthusiasts who had traveled to the Cannes beachfront from around the world to enjoy the programs along with grand French Riviera hospitality and lavish hotel accommodations.
Designed by pyrotechnic professionals, the programs competed for the Silver Vestal, the Jury's Prize and a Public Prize organized by the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. "From Cannes with Love," presented by Vacculluzzo Pirotecnia of Italy, received top honors claiming both the Silver Vestal and the Public Prize. Pyro Magic representing Hong Kong, China was presented with the Jury's Prize for presentation of "Les Racines du Fleuve Jaune". Other countries represented included Greece, Azerbaijan, France and Portugal.
