Netrics Hosting said it is working with the HP and Microsoft Frontline Partnership to offer a complete infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) product to give customers their first step into the private cloud. Netrics is building its swissVDC (virtual data centre), using the HP CloudSystem with the Windows Server 2012 operating system and Microsoft System Center 2012. Netrics has reduced server provisioning time from six hours to 20 minutes and improved server utilisation from 50 percent to 80 percent. The firm is now in a position to expand its business without increasing staff numbers.
Pascal Schmid, CEO of Netrics Hosting, said previously, each customer had its own dedicated hardware and infrastructure, but this was not efficient. Netrics needed a centralised platform that was easier to manage. Cisco had also been shortlisted. Netrics said that its data security is compliant with Swiss law. No-one can physically remove a server from its premises without an order from a judge.
