CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/26/13 -- FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: FLY) ("FLYHT") reported today that the AFIRS 228 has received certification from the Iridium Communications System ("Iridium") for the commercial use of the AFIRS 228S on the Iridium system.
FLYHT has completed the certification protocol to obtain Iridium Compatible Equipment ("ICE") certification. The process involved FLYHT submitting a test plan to Iridium for approval and based on that approval FLYHT executed the test plan under Iridium's oversight. The ICE certification was granted by Iridium, as a result.
Bill Tempany, President and CEO of FLYHT, stated: "This is a key milestone for the Company and its customers. The ICE certification is another important step in the process of the AFIRS 228 development and allows activation of the units on the Iridium Network. We are pleased to continue to complete these tests on schedule and are excited to see shipment of these products occurring on schedule to all of our customers. All of the building blocks are coming into place for a very bright future, and the AFIRS 228 product continues to show its strengths through the thorough testing it is being subjected to."
