Music John Otway BRITISH music's mad uncle comes to the Broadway Cinema for a Q&A session after a screening of Rock And Roll's Greatest Failure, a new documentary about his career, from testicle- crushing Old Grey Whistle Test glory to true cult status. Thursday, 8.30pm. See Page 8 Beer Broadway fest FROM Hockley, word arrives that real ale and art house cinema do go together. The Broadway Cinema hosts a bank holiday weekend beer festival that will include a number of local ales and a special Nottingham Brewery number featuring honey from the bees that live on the Broadway roof.
Family The Gruffalo's Child THE stage version of the beloved children's story's next instalment comes to the Theatre Royal from August 29 to September 1. Expect an all-ages romp featuring favourite characters and plenty of opportunity to interact - no matter how old you are. There are 11am and 2pm performance, and tickets are Pounds 10 or Pounds 12.
Music The Golden Troubadours ONE of the city's most interesting current bands, with a style that blends blues, alt-country and an eclectic mix of other sounds into a blend that's timeless and current. Nottingham Contemporary's Saturday night cafebar sessions have become one of the best places to find the most creative sounds on the Nottingham musical scene, so the Troubs should fit right in. And hey, it's free. The music starts at 9pm.
