CiiNOW, a company focused on Cloud Gaming technology and branded gaming platforms, announced an agreement with Metaboli to design and launch a commercially viable Cloud Gaming service on Metaboli.de in Germany.
According to a release, the streamed video games offering will be available to customers via a Metaboli-branded HDMI stick connected to users' smart TVs. The service will launch with a selection of new titles including, LEGO Batman: The Videogame from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, MotoGP13 from Milestone, Tropico 4 from Kalyspo Media, and ArcaniA: Fall of Setarrif from Nordic Games, and will be available to the German public later this year. Consumers can preview the service elements and interface in the CiiNOW demo area within the Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) exhibit booth at gamescom, which runs through August 25 in Cologne, Germany.
Similar to the partnership announced in January between CiiNOW and Metaboli's GameTap Club in France, the proposed German service will leverage CiiNOW's streaming technology and will be offered as a member subscription service featuring a variety of content and specialty services. Key to the selection of CiiNOW as Metaboli's Cloud Gaming technology partner was the company's proven conquest over latency during gameplay. With CiiNOW's proprietary technology, Cumulus, the latency experienced playing games is significantly less than that of consoles and other Cloud Gaming services.
"Nearly one out of every three people in Germany play video games, and those folks have a lot to be excited about today," said Ron Haberman, CiiNOW, Inc. CEO and Co-Founder. "The combination of CiiNOW's proven streaming technology, coupled with select quality games from Metaboli's robust games catalogue, means German customers will soon be playing the best titles on their favorite screened device. We encourage anyone attending gamescom this week to visit the AMD booth and see a glimpse of what we will be offering Metaboli customers in Germany soon."
"With our vast selection of great games, and CiiNOW's best-in- class technology, gamers in Germany will soon experience instant console-class gaming directly to their TV," said Pierre Forest, CEO of Metaboli. "We are eager to work with CiiNOW on customizing the most compelling offering for customers in this market."
