Darius Rucker at HOB, Harlem Globetrotters in Wildwood and other events At The Shore Today [Press of Atlantic City (NJ)]

Who Is He: A South Carolina native, Darius Rucker, 47, first gained fame as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the rock band Hootie & the Blowfish. He has most recently released three solo CDs as a country music artist. Rucker performs tonight at the House of Blues Atlantic City at Showboat Casino Hotel.

What To Expect: Rucker performed in June in Michigan. His setlist included the Hootie & The Blowfish songs "Only Wanna Be With You," "Let Her Cry" and "Hold My Hand." Rucker also sings his country hits, which include "Don't Think I Don't Think About It," "It Won't Be Like This For Long," "Come Back Song," "This" and "History in the Making." Rucker also did a cover of Prince's "Purple Rain" as one of his encore songs.

Guitar Circus at Taj

Who Are They: British singer and guitarist Peter Frampton, right, became a 1970s rock star thanks in large part to his hugely successful "Frampton Comes Alive!" album. Mississippi native B.B. King is a living legend and an absolute master of the blues. Sonny Landreth is a blues musician from Louisiana, who is known for his slide-guitar playing. All three guitarists perform tonight at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.

What To Expect: The concert is part of the Frampton Guitar Circus Tour. During a stop on the tour last month in Texas, Frampton's set list included the songs "Do You Feel Like We Do," "Baby I Love Your Way," "Wind of Change," "Show Me the Way," "Lines on My Face," "Doobie Wah" and "Magic Moon (Da Da Da Da Da!)." King played in April in South Carolina. His set list included the tunes "Rock Me Baby," "The Thrill Is Gone," "Guess Who," "When The Saints Go Marchin' In" and a cover of Peter Chatman's "Everyday I Have the Blues." Landreth played in May in New Orleans. Songs Landreth performed included "Blue Tarp Blues" and "Pedal To Metal."

Harlem Globetrotters in Wildwood

Who Are They: The showmen of basketball, the Harlem Globetrotters have thrilled audiences worldwide with their exhibitions for more than eight decades. They will offer a skills clinic and a game for fans today at the Wildwoods Convention Center.

What To Expect: Globetrotters will be on court for each two-hour session starting at 10 a.m., coaching, motivating, inspiring and entertaining participating children. The stars of the team make clinics inclusive for boys and girls, ages 6 to 14, of all skill and experience levels. The game begins at 7 p.m. with a pre-show at 5:30 p.m. This years marks the first time the Globetrotters are offering clinics on every game day after two clinics sold out last year. The Globetrotters are returning to the Wildwoods for the third consecutive year after successful games in 2011 and last year.

Event Info: Registration for the two-hour skills clinic is $59, which includes one ticket to the game. A 30-minute Magic Pass pre-show costs $15 per person, and all participants also must have a game ticket. Tickets for the game itself cost $19, $44 and $61. All activites take place inside the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood. Beauty pageant in Ocean City

What Is It: The Miss Ocean City Pageant will be held tonight at the Music Pier.

What To Expect: The women wil be judged in best talent, interview and swimsuit categories. The pageant also names one woman as Miss Congeniality. The reigning Miss Ocean City 2013 is Devon Vanderslice, 20, of Ocean City. The pageant is sponsored by the Ocean City Exchange Club, who awards more than $15,000 in scholarships and prizes each year.
