CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/09/13 -- Jeff Arnett, master distiller for Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee is visiting Calgary for the 101st year of the Calgary Stampede to celebrate this historic, first-time partnership and promote several expressions from the Jack Daniel's family of brands.

Jack Daniel's is a proud sponsor of the 2013 Calgary Stampede and supporting sponsor of Nashville North. Both Jack Daniel's and the Calgary Stampede have longstanding histories and value tradition, western hospitality and community spirit. Both organizations have helped shape North America's history and pride themselves on bringing people together.

Arnett will be visiting Jack Daniel's sponsored tents around Calgary, offering a special toast to guests and sharing stories of the historic brand.

"I'm thrilled to take in this historic event that has helped shape who Calgary is today. Jack Daniel's is proud to partner with such a strong organization that is giving people something to celebrate during recent hard times," says Arnett. "I look forward to meeting the locals who make up this vibrant, resilient city."

Arnett was named the seventh master distiller in the history of the Jack Daniel Distillery in 2008, which has been in operation since the mid-1850s. As master distiller, Arnett oversees the entire whiskey-making process of milling, yeasting, fermentation, distillation, charcoal mellowing and maturation. He also oversees a panel of official whiskey tasters who are responsible for deciding - by smell and taste, not by the calendar - when a barrel of whisky is ready for bottling.

The entire Jack Daniel's Family of Brands share a resemblance. Each of them calls Lynchburg, Tennessee, and America's oldest registered distillery home. They're all made with the same ingredients: corn, rye, barley malt and iron-free water from our limestone Cave Spring. Every barrel reaches peak maturity in one of the 82 barrelhouses located on the Moore County hillside, maturing in newly charred, white oak barrels. Each barrel is carefully handcrafted; Jack Daniel's is the only spirit manufacturer in the world that handcrafts its own barrel. And, they all acquire their smooth charcoal-mellowed character by making the same journey drop by drop through 10 feet of hard sugar maple charcoal. Although they share these family traits, they enjoy their own individual tastes.

Jack Daniel's encourages its friends to enjoy its whiskey with the same care it crafts its barrels and to please drink responsibly.
