VINELAND, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 07/09/13 -- GreenLane Estate Winery will celebrate the grand opening of its new location in Vineland with numerous events and activities on Saturday, July 13, announced Dianne Smith, General Manager and Head Winemaker at GreenLane Estate Winery.
To celebrate the grand opening, GreenLane Estate Winery will have a day packed with great events and activities for wine lovers, families and kids alike including food trucks from Southern Smoke (southern bbq), Avalla's Pizza, The Feisty Jack and Tony's Corner Greek StrEatery, all offering pairings with GreenLane wines. There will also be guided tours of the new facility, educational tours, a special release of GreenLane Reserve Wines, a handmade market featuring local products and produce for sale, live music and lots of activities for the kids.
The new location, formerly the site of Wayne Gretzky's winery, will feature a beautiful new retail boutique housing GreenLane's award winning wines as well as locally sourced products including homemade jams and chutneys, freshly baked breads, soaps made from wine and more. There is also a large and comfortable tasting lounge for guests to enjoy, and an outdoor patio overlooking the 10-acre property. The winery will also begin on-site production of its wines in August 2013.
Once the new production facility is completed, it is estimated that the next vintage will yield 3000 cases from the winery's vines (currently the winery produces 2800 cases) and it is projected that in the next few years, GreenLane Estate Winery's production will grow to 10,000 cases.
Dianne Smith and her winemaking team will begin planting new Chardonnay vines in Spring 2014. GreenLane will source grapes from both its current GreenLane vineyard and its new King Street vineyard.
"We are thrilled to finally open our new doors to the public and what better way to do so then to host a big party for the public to enjoy. We have something for everyone so if you're travelling the Niagara wine route on July 13, stop by and say hello, try some of our delicious wines and enjoy our hospitality," said Smith.
Grand opening celebrations on Saturday, July 13th begin at 10 a.m., with the handmade market followed by tours, tastings, food trucks and more taking place all day until 8 p.m.
Dedicated to producing some of the region's finest hand harvested wines from mature vines dating from 1990, GreenLane Estate Winery embraces the art of winemaking by crafting wines that speak truthfully of their vineyard origins.
