VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/09/13 -- Browns Restaurant Group (BRG) is pleased to announce it has signed a development deal with an experienced group of hospitality operators to expand into the Calgary, AB market by establishing as many as ten Browns Socialhouse locations there within the next seven years, creating an estimated 600 jobs.
The Calgary franchisees are a knowledgeable group of investors: lead partner Gord McCormick, operations manager Greg Taylor, director of business development Chad McCormick, and president and general manager Chad Taylor have been in business together operating various pubs and retail liquor stores across Western Canada for 30 years.
"We are enthusiastic about bringing our brand to Calgary. Its booming economy and residential spread will enable Browns to serve multiple neighbourhoods," says Bruce Fox, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President Development of Browns Restaurant Group. "Plus, this group of franchisees is an ideal fit for us. Working with experienced restaurateurs is critical to the Browns Socialhouse business model."
"We're thrilled to be part of the Browns family," says McCormick. "We've aligned ourselves with a major success story in Canada's premium casual dining scene. Browns has an established system for success and this deal is a smart growth strategy for our group."
Quickly becoming a national restaurant chain, Browns plans to open its first location in Ontario in 2015. The company will have 50 Browns Socialhouses established by the end of 2014, across the four Western Provinces.
