SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 07/08/13 -- FSTEC NexGen today announced that Robert Irvine, celebrity chef and restaurateur will deliver an opening keynote focused on the shift of the restaurant/bar industry to a paperless infrastructure. FSTEC NexGen, the industry's only all-inclusive technology education and networking event, will be held September 22-24 at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. Irvine's keynote address, presented by Comcast Business, will take place at 8:00 a.m. on Mon., September 23.
"Operators who excel in today's competitive marketplace seamlessly marry culinary, service and technology. Much like a doctor, Robert Irvine assesses restaurants with his take-charge attitude to improve efficiencies across an organization," said Rob Grimes, FSTEC's Chairman and CEO. "We are excited for him to kick-off FSTEC to share his vision for the industry and get an insider's view on how to leverage technology to better serve guests."
With more than 25 years in the culinary profession, Chef Irvine has cooked his way through Europe, the Far East, the Caribbean and the Americas, in hotels and on the high seas. As the host of one of the Food Network's highest-rated shows, Restaurant: Impossible, Irvine saves struggling restaurants across America by assessing and overhauling their weakest spots. Irvine was previously the host of Food Network's Dinner: Impossible and Worst Cooks in America and continues to own and operate two restaurants in South Carolina, Robert Irvine's Eat and Robert Irvine's Nosh. Irvine is also the author of two cookbooks, Mission: Cook! and Impossible to Easy.
Admission to Irvine's keynote is open to those with an FSTEC Conference Pass and the FSTEC + FDMS Combo Pass, which includes access to 49 educational sessions, 16 networking functions, and the technology Innovation Showcase spanning two days. Senior level technology professionals from the top 300 multi-unit foodservice operators representing all segments of the industry will converge upon Scottsdale with their colleagues from human resources, finance and marketing to get a 360 degree view of the latest technology while interacting and exchanging ideas with peers and industry leaders.

FSTEC NexGen is the only cross-segment technology event that focuses on an exchange of ideas and best practices in a relaxed setting that delivers top-notch, relevant technology-focused education, networking, and a vendor technology showcase.
