Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular Nick Cannon hosts the annual celebration from New York City, featuring performances by Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw. 8 and 10 p.m. NBC

A Capitol Fourth Tom Bergeron returns to host this year's celebration of America's birthday from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, featuring, a fireworks display set to the traditional rendition of the 1812 Overture with cannon fire. Barry Manilow, Megan Hilty, Jackie Evancho and Scotty McCreery are among the scheduled performers and John Williams will conduct the National Symphony Orchestra. 8 and 9:30 p.m. KOCE

Philly 4th of July Jam This special from the birthplace of American democracy features fireworks and musical performances from the Roots, John Mayer, Jill Scott, Demi Lovato, Ne-Yo, Grace Potter and J. Cole. 8 p.m. VH1

Yankee Doodle Dandy James Cagney stars in this 1942 musical as George M. Cohan, who gave the United States some of its most memorable music, including "You're a Grand Old Flag," "Give My Regards to Broadway" and "Over There." Joan Leslie and Walter Huston also star. 2:30 p.m. TCM

Banner 4th of July A woman and her two estranged brothers (Brooke White, Christian Campbell and Michael Barbuto) put their family band back together for a holiday benefit after their mother (Mercedes Ruehl) suffers a heart attack in this 2013 TV movie. 8 p.m. Hallmark

Beasts of the Southern Wild Quvenzhane Wallis became the youngest lead actress nominee in Academy Awards history in her role as a 6-year-old whose Louisiana bayou home is threatened by global warming and the prehistoric animals it releases in this 2012 drama. Dwight Henry also stars. 8:20 p.m. Cinemax

The Sessions Helen Hunt plays a sex surrogate hired by a poet (John Hawkes) who has lived much of his life in an iron lung and wants to broaden his experiences. William H. Macy also stars in this 2012 drama. 10 p.m. Cinemax
