Alcatel has presented a new line of Android smartphones and tablets which will be manufactured in Brazil. The devices should be available on the Brazilian market in the second half of August. The top-of-the-range smartphone, called Idol, will be sold for BRL 1,000 and features a 4.7-inch screen, Android 4.1, 8 MP back camera, 1 GHz dual-core processor and dual-Sim support. For its part, the M'pop will have a 4-inch screen, Android 4.1 and 5 MP camera and will cost BRL 569. The cheapest device will be the Pixo, with support for two Sims, 1 GHz processor, Android 2.3 and 2 MP camera. It will retail for BRL 399. The tablet Evo will have a 7-inch screen, 1 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, Android 4.0 and 4 GB flash memory. The price for this device has not been revealed.
