Mobile operator Tele2 Russia said that 18 percent of its subscribers were using smartphones at the end of June. The number of subscribers using conventional handsets fell by 2 percentage points to 69 percent, compared to the beginning of the year. Just under half (46%) of smartphones owned connected to the network via Android devices, with share of Symbian devices down by 10 percentage points to 35 percent. Over 70 percent of mobile devices connected to the network supported data transmission services and 40 percent of subscribers used mobile internet services. Samsung E1080 led among devices connected to the Tele2 Russia network, followed by Nokia 1280, Nokia X1-01, Nokia 1616 and Samsung E1200.
