"SINBAD: Make Me Wanna Holla" Brings the Laughs Straight from Detroit to U.S. Cinemas This Summer

NCM Fathom Events and New Wave Entertainment Present First Event in Series Featuring Veteran Comic's Hilarious Stand-Up Routine in Select Movie Theaters on Aug. 22

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Turning movie theaters into comedy clubs across the U.S. this summer, NCM Fathom Events and New Wave Entertainment present the first in a series of comedy specials with "SINBAD: Make Me Wanna Holla," an exclusive cinema event in select theaters on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 8:00 p.m. local time. The one-night event features a riotous performance by the one and only Sinbad featuring his stand-up routine that covers hilarious observations--from the life advice his parents gave him, to why he is tired of people with no talent having clothing lines, as well as explaining who he "really" is.

Pre-recorded live before an uproarious crowd at The Fillmore Detroit on August 2 in the comic's home state of Michigan, "SINBAD: Make Me Wanna Holla" will feature some exclusive footage--never to be shown again after the Aug. 22 event.

Presented in nearly 500 select movie theaters around the country through NCM's exclusive Digital Broadcast Network, tickets for "SINBAD: Make Me Wanna Holla" are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. Sinbad, one of the world's most beloved comedians, originally shot to fame in the '80s with club shows and a star-making turn on the hit sitcom "A Different World." In addition to creating his successful series of stand-up specials for HBO and Comedy Central, the veteran funnyman has starred in "The Sinbad Show," which earned him a 1995 Kids' Choice Awards nomination for "Favorite Television Actor," as well as family comedies like "First Kid," "Necessary Roughness," "Houseguest" and "Jingle All the Way." Sinbad was also included on "Comedy Central Presents: 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time."

Fathom Events and New Wave Entertainment, the premiere producer of stand-up comedy specials, announced the series in May. The comedy series will feature some of the biggest names in stand-up beginning with Sinbad this summer.
